Rob Healey, 42, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in the summer of 1994. |
Last year he organised and swam in the first ever Tri-service Cross Channel Relay Race with teams from the Army, Navy and RAF swimming against each other to win the coveted Channel Eagle Trophy. |

Rob is delighted to be supporting this first ever Diabetes UK Cross Channel Relay Race. It’s a fantastic challenge and will be a great experience for everyone involved. |

This event is a real challenge but if you are prepared to train it will be more than worth it. |

News isn’t good I’m afraid. Weather is apparently to remain rough until the end of the week. The new tide starts at the weekend with some solo swimmers booked. The first likely opportunity (weather dependent) is the middle of next week - obviously dependent of swimmer availability - Emily will be contacting all swimmers tomorrow. As Captain Webb famously said - ‘nothing great is easy’. Rob will be speaking to the Pilots daily and update this site every evening - so do check back. In the meantime you might be interested to know more about the Pilots and boats your swimmers will be going with - CS&PF Pilots. “Sea Satin” and “Gallivant” are the boats you’ll be interested in. Once they do get underway you will be able to track them on this site - |
