Welcome to DUKSWIM 2010

3 teams of 6 swimmers will be racing across the English Channel to raise money for Diabetes UK. The race will take place during the window 09-16 August 2010.
At this stage we cannot be more specific on timings as factors such as weather and tides need to be taken into account nearer the time.

Team PictureEach team will go across on an escort boat. All the pilots have years of experience and hundreds of cossings under their belts. There is only one swimmer in the water at a time who will be swimming an hour leg before the next swimmer takes to the water.

The pilots are the ones who will say when the race can start - and that could be any time of day or night.  We'll let you know more nearer the time on this page.

Please take the time to visit our team pages where the swimmers have written something about themselves and you can donate to Diabetes UK using the teams' donate buttons.

Rob HealeyRob Healey, 44, has organised and taken part in multiple cross channel swims over the past 3 years.  Having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1994 this cause is close to his heart and he is thrilled to be involved in this challenge.
